- It’s been crazy this year, Tarjei Sandvik Moe (17) tells Dagbladet.

Friday afternoon, it became known that the NRK success has been nominated in several categories for this year’s Gullruten, and Sandvik Moe is among those who might take home one of the most respected awards, “Best male actor.”

- It feels insanely cool to be nominated for Gullruten. I’ve been focusing a lot on my career as an actor this year, and it’s gone very well, so I’m quite happy, he explains.

Just one and a half year ago, the 17-year-old was like any other teen. He could roam the streets undisturbed, and the approaches on social media were a lot fewer. Then in the fall, everything really took off.

After he got to play a central role in one of Norway’s maybe most talked about drama series a few years ago, his life changed.

- I’ve gotten a crazy amount of response. There are text messages all the time, and it completely blows up on social media.

The massive interest from “Skam” fans all over the world has led to Sandvik Moe distancing himself from certain platforms.

The 17-year-old doesn’t have an Instagram account, doesn’t use Twitter, and doesn’t have an official Snapchat account.

Except for a few public posts on Facebook, this profile is also closed off.

- Now I’ve actually just quit most social media. I’m simply not into stuff like that.

The romance between the “Skam” characters Isak, played by Sandvik Moe, and Even - portrayed by Henrik Holm, had many people glued to the screen last fall and winter, and the enthusiasm around the boys is still great.

- Are there any similarities between the character Isak and you as a private person?

- Yeah, well, we sure do look very alike. That’s pretty obvious. Other than that, I don’t know. Isak can be a little rude. Maybe I can be a little rude, too, at times. Forget to care about people. Oh god, now I’m talking myself down, he says laughingly and continues:

- Isak is a cool type, but I don’t know if he’d like me.

- Why not?

- I don’t know if he likes those actor types/theatre kids, he says and laughs.
