Tarjei: I have just been going to work, to do acting, which i love! So that has been a lot of fun.

Sana is standing in her room with the door barely open - listening in to the conversation.
Mom: Is there something going on between them?
Elias: Don't ask me. You have to ask her.
Mom: Sana told me that she randomly met Yousef outside.
Elias: Well, if that's what she told you, you have to trust her word.
Elias: Stop being so sceptical and start trusting your kids more. Oh my God!

Elias leaves the conversation and Sana closes her door.

ALI: Yeah, philosophy and a few other courses and then I think I’ll take a gap year..

YOUSEF: Hi, it’s Yousef. Sorry for calling, but I don’t really know what to do with Elias.
SANA: What happened?
YOUSEF: Elias is totally wasted and wants to go home to sleep, but I don’t think that’s a good idea.
SANA: Where are you?
YOUSEF: I can walk you home.
SANA: That’s ok, you don’t have to.
YOUSEF: It’s no problem. I’ll walk you.
SANA: What did Elias drink?
YOUSEF: Vodka. Bad reaction.
SANA: What did you say?
YOUSEF: Bad reaction. Relax. You’re so tough. Pass me the ball. Wow, reaction, or what? Tough girl! You can’t handle the ball. You have such bad reflexes.
SANA: I handle balls better than you.
YOUSEF: Wow! What the fuck?
SANA: Why don’t you believe in Allah?
YOUSEF: You know Even? The guy we used to hang with? I think he’s gay.. Because he tried to kiss Mikael and Mikael is really religious, so he totally flipped out and was really out of it. So it turned into.. Even like trying to cure himself by reading the Quran. And it ended up with him posting different verses from the Quran where it said like.. gay people go to hell. You know he.. tried to kill himself? So I just feel like Islam.. Or religion in general.. Just creates a lot of anxiety in people.
SANA: Even was sick. It didn’t have anything to do with religion,
YOUSEF: Sorry, I don’t know. I personally feel like I’ve taken the best of the religion and thrown away the rest.
SANA: And what’s the best?
YOUSEF: It’s like.. compassion towards others. Be grateful for what you get, help people. Be positive. Do what’s best for others, not only yourself. That’s that.
SANA: But that’s exactly what the rituals in Islam remind you of. By fasting, praying five times a day - it gives you focus. It reminds you what’s most important in the world - to be a good person.
YOUSEF: Don’t you think I’ll remember to be a good person without having to pray?
SANA: Like.. To me. I stress through the days with 100 thought in my head and everything can be totally chaos, but when I start to pray, everything turns silent and clear. Because in spite of all this chaos, you remember what really matters. It’s fine because everything has a meaning. Did you for example know that in the brains of cockroaches, there are nine different types of antibiotics molecules that are stronger than any type of penicillin we have today?
YOUSEF: Cockroaches? Seriously? Where did that come from?
SANA: Because every little part of the universe is so complex. Imagine! The brain of a cockroach has a bigger purpose on earth. It comes down to every single little detail and I just can’t believe all that is random.
YOUSEF: If religion is so good, why does it split society? Are we two?
SANA: We’re cool.
YOUSEF: We’re cool too. Okay.
SANA: Okay.
YOUSEF: Are you looking into my eyes now? Are you? I’m very unsure because it looks like you’re…
SANA: I’m looking into your eyes now.
YOUSEF: Very good. Okay. No? But.. What was I going to say?
MOM: Sana!
SANA: Bye then.
YOUSEF: Bye.
